Forgiveness. It’s a big word to some and a small, insignificant word to others. This week someone said to me, “When someone says, ‘I forgive you’ to me, it makes me feel worse.” I never heard someone express that to me before. The conversation went on.
I asked “How? Wouldn’t you feel a release from the burden you had felt before the words were spoken to you?” He said it was more of a reminder that he did something wrong.
How do you view forgiveness? How about extending grace to yourself first because of the immense grace extended to us through Jesus? He knows our humanness, He lives with us and through us in our brokenness and meets us every morning as new. A new person lives, a forgiven person -separated from all past brokenness – lives freely.
Forgive yourself because Jesus Christ forgave you first. ~ †

It is so much freedom when we forgive. I for one never knew how much I was in bondage until I was set free.

Desiray, it’s a blessing, isn’t it? Forgiving frees us to the kind of life I think Jesus was talking about when he said, “I came that they may have life and have it more abundantly.” John 10:10
Thanks for being a blessing today!
